Brief
Overview

Crystal Creek is one of the only two developments in the Western Cape nominated for the NHBRC’s “Builder of the Year – 2006” award. Situated 40 minutes from Cape Town in the shadow of the Hottentots Holland Mountains, Crystal Creek residential Nature Estate is situated 300m from a secluded beach in Gordon’s Bay, the last seaside outpost before Sir Lowry's Pass takes one over the mountains and into a famous eco-tourism area, the Overberg. The area surrounding the development has a huge 55% of private open space, with mountains and sea views.

The Development

This lovely apartment complex has just been completed by Realcor Cape Construction. It is situated about 300m from Gustrow Beach in Disa Road, Gordon’s Bay and 50% of the development is a private nature reserve. The private nature reserve is home to rare renosterveld species and more particularly the very rare Lourensford Shale Fynbos.

The complex has its own swimming pool and designated braai areas with lovely landscaping. Many apartments enjoy breathtaking sea and mountain views, each with its own private balcony. The rooms are spacious, the ceilings are high and the finishes were picked with care by the projects architects and Deonette de Ridder herself. (Even the light fittings enjoyed special attention.) The finishes vary from standard finishes to solid wood floors, granite tops and double volume penthouses with built in braai’s. The units are functional, modern, reasonably priced and extremely beautiful.

Cape Nature Conservation will be responsible for the overall guidance of the management of Crystal Creek’s nature reserve, but they want to do it according to their stewardship program. This means that the body corporate will take responsibility for the management of the area in accordance with a management plan developed and approved specifically for the "Reserve". This is not a complicated or costly exercise, yet it protects the invaluable natural heritage of the area, and provides a beautiful open space for residents to wind down and appreciate nature.
